Maintenance vehicle catches fire near train tracks in West Deer Township

WEST DEER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A maintenance vehicle caught on fire along the train tracks in West Deer Township on Monday afternoon.

According to Allegheny County 911, emergency crews were called to the scene at 2:38 p.m.

The fire started in the area of Dawson and Saxonburg roads.

Chopper 11 flew over the scene. It appears that fire crews had to drag hoses a significant distance, with no hydrants nearby.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
