SHALER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Members of the Shaler Township community held a benefit in honor of a young woman killed by her father inside their home earlier this year.
Laurin Edwards, 19, was shot and killed by her father, James Edwards, in August. Officials said Edwards also shot his son and wife before turning the gun on himself.
Laurin Edwards’ mother and brother survived the shooting.
Organizers held a spaghetti dinner over the weekend at St. Bonaventure Church. Hundreds of people attended the event that helped raise money for her surviving family members.
