Greensburg native named Pennsylvania acting attorney general

With Josh Shapiro taking over as governor, a chief law enforcement officer was needed in the state, and a western Pennsylvania native was tapped to fill the role.

Greensburg native Michelle A. Henry has been named acting attorney general.

A prosecutor for 26 years, Henry started as an intern in the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office.

She is a graduate of Greensburg-Salem public schools, Allegheny College and the Widener University School of Law and worked for the Westmoreland County Legal Aid Office, according to the state department’s website.

Henry has worked for over 20 years for the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and was first deputy attorney general under former Attorney General Shapiro.
