SHARON, Pa. — A man is facing several charges after police said he pointed a gun at people inside a Mercer County bar.

The Sharon Police Department was called to the Keg Bar and Grille on East State Street on Dec. 8 at 10:35 p.m. for a man who pointed a gun at several patrons inside and then pointed a gun through the windows at them.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Ronald Kahl, 55, of Shaprsville, in the parking lot. Police said he was armed with a handgun, but dropped it when officers told him to.

According to a release from police, Kahl resisted arrest and officers had to use “necessary force” to get him into custody. He was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained during the arrest before being taken to the Mercer County Jail.

Kahl is facing charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

“The Sharon Police Department is thankful for the actions of the bar staff and patrons in calling 911 and making people safe. The initial responding officers are also commended for their swift and appropriate response in getting this situation under control quickly and safely and for their investigative efforts,” the department said in a release.

Police are asking for any witnesses or patrons who may have information, including video, to call them at 724-983-3210 or the Mercer County 911 Center at 724-662-6110.
