DUQUESNE, Pa. — One person was killed in a shooting inside a Duquesne bar early Monday.

Investigators said officers were dispatched to the 1313 Bar on Kennedy Avenue just after midnight.

Investigators said Donnell Demery, 55, and another patron at the bar got into a verbal argument. The patron pulled a gun and shot Demery multiple times, police said.

Officers found Demery bleeding badly when they arrived. An officer applied an emergency tourniquet to Demery in an attempt to save his life.  Demery was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The community is mourning the loss of the father and grandfather.

"Donnell, he was a jokester. So I can definitely tell you and that's what I can definitely tell you. He recently got married.  I think it was last year and I saw him just a few days ago," Duquesne Mayor Nikole Nesby said.

Police said a second person was hurt in the shooting but left before officers arrived.
