4 arrested after carjacking, robberies in Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — Four people were arrested in relation to a carjacking and robberies that were reported late Thursday night in Pittsburgh, police said.

Just before midnight, police were called to Hazlett Street in the city’s Northview Heights neighborhood. According to police, the caller said four males held victims at gunpoint while demanding their car, phones and money, and the males threatened to kill them if they did not comply.

The victims were able to get away.

Moments later, four males matching the descriptions provided to police robbed someone who was withdrawing money from an ATM in the area of James and Middle streets, police said.

The males, two of whom are juveniles, were arrested in two separate locations on East Ohio Street, police said.

The car from the original incident was found on East Street, police said.
