The suspect in a home invasion is facing a long list of charges after police say he broke into a family’s home along in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood.
Family members heard a loud crashing sound downstairs, and when they took a look, they found a man in their laundry room.
According to the criminal complaint, the man “was only dressed in a black t-shirt and black boxers.
A victim told police he yelled at the man and asked him why he was in the house, then “hit him with a broom” before wrestling the intruder to the ground.
Another family member, who was asleep on a nearby couch, woke up and saw what was going on, grabbed a frying pan and hit the intruder.
That blow apparently knocked the intruder out, because the criminal complaint says that when police arrived, they "noticed he was not conscious and called for medics."
Police say the man, identified as Jermaine Sample, was intoxicated. He’s now facing several charges. including burglary, and is lodged in the Allegheny County Jail.
