PITTSBURGH — A family of six is low on disinfect products after they say someone broke in and stole all of their essentials, even the toilet paper.

“This is where our kids lay their head at night, this in their home that’s the concerning part,” Lindsay Duplinsky said.

Duplinsky is still trying to process what she says happened. In broad daylight, she went out for a walk with her family and when they returned, the back door was open.

“Our sanitizer was gone. Our cleaning disinfect stuff was gone and I was just like, ‘oh my goodness,’” Duplinsky said.

She said their closet was stocked with toilet paper, hand sanitizer and all kinds of essentials.

“My daughter has acute asthma so her inhaler was gone,” Duplinsky said.

Duplinsky is now running low on what everyone needs right now.

“It’s a tough time but if they needed something, even if we didn’t know who they were, all they had to do was ask, especially for toilet paper,” Duplinsky said.

Duplinsky was able to get toilet paper. She’s going to the store first thing hoping she finds what she now needs to restock. Duplinsky filed a police report. So far, no arrests have been made.

“Every cop and detective that I spoke to since has said this has been a first for us,” Duplinsky said.

Duplinsky told me her family donated to food banks and bought extra things for neighbors like toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Once they get everything they need they plan to continue helping their community.
