Former Leechburg police chief sent back to prison for failing to register as a sex offender

LEECHBURG, Pa. — Former Leechburg police chief Michael Diebold was ordered to spend 18 to 36 months in prison after a judge found him guilty of failing to register as a sex offender.

According to our partners at TribLIVE.com, state police in Armstrong County charged Diebold in 2020 with failing to provide accurate information when he registered as an offender. He pleaded guilty to the charges in October.

The judge denied a request that Diebold be allowed to serve the sentence under house arrest.
