200 neglected animals rescued from filthy, unhealthy Ohio home

SALEM, Ohio — The Columbiana County Humane Society rescued hundreds of animals from a Salem home on Friday.

The cats, dogs and other small animals are all receiving veterinary care and being kept in quarantine until it can be determined what they’re dealing with.

It’s unclear what led investigators to the home where they found the more than 200 animals living in “filthy and extremely unhealthy conditions,” according to a news release.

Salem is about an hour from Pittsburgh.
