PITTSBURGH — After two more teams suspended play through the NHL’s holiday break, the NHL unveiled new COVID-19 protocols for its teams, including the Pittsburgh Penguins.
A lot of the measures being put in place are similar to the restrictions that were in place in 2020.

The biggest change for players is that on the road, players will no longer be allowed to eat out at restaurants.
Players will also be subject to testing every day with the exceptions of off days, and if they’re in the 90-day “holiday” window after having tested positive for COVID-19.
The enhanced protocols will last through Jan. 1 and will be reevaluated by Jan. 7.

Calgary, Colorado and Florida had shut down through the holiday break. On Saturday, Boston and Nashville postponed their games through Dec. 26. Several other games have been postponed.
Some Canadian provinces are now limiting attendance.
None of the postponed games involve the Penguins.
The team, as of this article, only has assistant coach Ty Hennes in the COVID-19 Protocol.
