Man who allegedly fled court hearing, assaulted constable arrested in Hill District

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — A man who was wanted for allegedly fleeing a court hearing when his bond was revoked has been arrested.

Branden Cohen, 27, was arrested in the HIll District on Tuesday night.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson says Cohen appeared before a judge in Clairton on Tuesday for a simple assault charge involving a domestic dispute. During that court hearing, the judge revoked Cohen’s bond.

He was ordered to be taken into custody and was handcuffed and had shackles placed around his ankles. Cohen was allowed to use the restroom and when he walked out, he allegedly assaulted a constable and ran off.

When he was arrested, he no longer had on the shackles or handcuffs.

Cohen now faces seven new charges, including escape and aggravated assault.
