New shows and recent hits return to NBC this week

NBC’s mid-season premieres are almost here, and we have everything you need to know about the new and returning shows!

America’s Got Talent: The Champions

Monday, 8 p.m.

“America’s Got Talent: The Champions” returns to NBC Jan. 6 for its second season.

The show brings together the world’s most memorable acts from past seasons and other “Got Talent” franchises around the globe.

The judges panel consists of Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Alesha Dixon with Terry Crews returning as host.

Manifest

Monday, 10 p.m.

NBC’s “Manifest” is heading into its second season starting Jan. 6.

Ben, Michaela and Cal Stone were on Montego Air Flight 828 when they landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight. After they landed, the crew and passengers quickly realized the world had aged five years and their friends, families and colleagues had given up hope of their return.

Passengers on Flight 828 are all given a second chance at life, but their new realities become a deep mystery. Some of the returned passengers soon realize they may be meant for something greater than ever thought possible.

Ellen’s Game of Games

Tuesday, 8 p.m.

“Ellen’s Game of Games” returns to NBC Jan. 6 after a successful first season.

With fun, laughter and twists, Ellen DeGeneres brings brand-new games and surprises to the reality competition show, featuring Stephen “tWitch” Boss as announcer.

This Is Us

Tuesday, 9 p.m.

“This is Us” is headed into its second half of the fourth season on NBC starting Jan. 14

Starring Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley and Sterling Brown, "This Is Us" chronicles the Pearsons across decades and hopes to share stories viewers can relate to.

The Pearsons’ story continues to the next chapter with lots of tears, laughs and surprises you won’t be expecting.

New Amsterdam

Tuesdays, 10 p.m.

“New Amsterdam” is returning to NBC on Jan. 14.

The show is a unique medical drama that follows Dr. Max Goodwin, played by Ryan Eggold, and after its first season, it's left viewers with a lot of questions.

“New Amsterdam” is inspired by Dr. Eric Manheimer’s memoir, “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital.”

Chicago Med

Wednesdays, 8 p.m.

NBC's "Chicago Med" tells the stories of the doctors, nurses, staff and the day-to-day chaos of Chicago's newest trauma center.

Returning on Jan. 8, “Chicago Med” will have familiar faces from “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” as they intertwine with the finest heroes of Chicago.

Chicago Fire

Wednesday, 9 p.m.

As “Chicago Fire” heads into its eighth season on Jan. 8, the stories of Chicago Firehouse 51′s firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics continue.

Everyone in Firehouse 51 will lay it on the line for each other as they risk their lives week in and week out to save and protect Chicago citizens.

Chicago P.D.

Wednesday, 10 p.m.

Starting its seventh season on Jan. 8, NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” tells the stories of the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s Intelligence Unit.

The show follows the team as they battle offenses like organized crime, drug trafficking, murders and more.

Superstore

Thursday, 8 p.m.

“Superstore” is continuing to kick off Thursday nights.

The comedy show returns on Jan. 9 and is about a unique group of employees at a supersized megastore who consider each other family.

The Good Place

Thursday, 8:30 p.m.

“The Good Place” is returning to NBC on Jan. 9 with more laughs than ever before.

This unique comedy shows what makes a good person by following an ordinary woman as she enters the afterlife and is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place.

Will & Grace

Tuesday, 9 p.m.

The most fabulous foursome from “Will & Grace” returns on Jan. 9 with laughs, wit and razor-sharp jabs.

Perfect Harmony:

Thursday, 9:30 p.m.

NBC’s new comedy show “Perfect Harmony” stars Bradley Whitford as Arthur Cochran and premieres on Jan. 9.

The show is about finding inspiration in unlikely places and individuals who help each other reinvent happiness.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Thursday, 10 p.m.

Continuing its 21st season as the longest-running prime time live-action series on Jan. 9, “Law & Order: SVU” is an emotional, hard-hitting series about the lives of people who make up the Special Victims Unit of the New York City Police Department.

This elite squad of detectives investigates crimes of sexual assault, child abuse and domestic violence.

Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector

Friday, 8 p.m.

NBC’s newest show “Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector” is about the notorious serial killer who once terrified New York City.

The show brings former NYPD detective Lincoln Rhyme out of retirement when an elaborate murder points to his return.
