NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two people were killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash Saturday night in North Union Township, police said.
Derek Kemp, 19, of West Leisenring, and his passenger Robert Walker III, 20, of Uniontown, died when their vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and collided with a second vehicle. Police said the vehicle driven by Kemp was speeding.
The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. on Connellsville Street, near Brushwood Road. Kemp was driving southbound when his vehicle crossed the center line upon overcompensating the curve, entering the northbound lane in which the second vehicle was traveling, police said.
The second vehicle swerved in attempt to avoid Kemp, but the two vehicles crashed head-on, police said.
Two people in the other car, Caitlyn and James Vlosich, both 24 years old from Brownsville, were airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
