2 more men charged with homicide in fatal attack on Pittsburgh cab driver

PITTSBURGH — Two more men arrested in connection with the fatal attack on a Pittsburgh cab driver had their charges upgraded Tuesday to include homicide, according to online docket sheets.

Christen Glenn, 18, and Daniel Russell, 19, were arrested Feb. 26 in Ohio after a traffic stop. Pittsburgh police filed homicide charges against the men Tuesday in connection with Ramadhan Mohamed’s death.

As of Tuesday, Glenn and Russell were still awaiting extradition to the Allegheny County Jail.

Police last week upgraded the charges filed against King Edwards and Hosea Moore, both 20-year-olds from Beltzhoover, to include homicide. Edwards and Moore were arrested Feb. 24 in connection with Mohamed’s death.

Mohamed was found beaten about 5 a.m. on Feb. 21 in the city's Beltzhoover neighborhood.

According to a criminal complaint, the four suspects and another person were at Edwards' home on Curtain Street when they decided to rob a pizza delivery person but realized the pizza shop was closed. Instead, the men called for a Z Trip cab, the complaint stated. Police said Edwards and Moore called the cab with the intent of robbing the driver.

They told Mohamed to pick them up on Climax Street. According to the complaint, they beat him up and left him and the car there. The men later returned, moved Mohamed’s body to a yard and moved his car three blocks away.

Police said when they came home, Russell was “bragging about how bad he beat the victim.” The men later returned to the scene to “make sure the victim was dead,” according to the complaint.

According to the complaint, when they returned to the scene they kicked his face and neck trying to kill him.

Family members said Mohamed leaves behind a 2-year-old son and his wife, who is eight months pregnant.
