VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA — A house in Vancouver sold for 80 thousand dollars over asking price-- fetching nearly 2.5 million dollars-- and you have to see it to believe it.
The 86 year old, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home was put on the market two weeks ago.
It's missing a few shingles, some of the walls are rotting inside its 2000 square feet and it needs a paint job. Considering another house down the street is listed for 4 million dollars it could be seen as a bargain at a mere 2.4 million.
But none of that really matters since it will likely be torn down. Many older homes have been replaced with newer ones in what is now one of Vancouver's hottest neighborhoods.
