280 stamp bags of heroin confiscated in Washington County drug bust

WASHINGTON, Pa. — A 54-year-old man is charged with numerous drug crimes after a two-month investigation into heroin distribution in Washington County, authorities said.

Joseph Rasel was arrested and faces felony charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver heroin, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Washington County District Attorney Eugene A. Vittone said a search warrant was executed Friday morning in North Franklin Township.

Detectives seized more than 280 stamp bags of heroin, marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia associated with the repackaging of heroin, authorities said.

The Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, North Franklin Township police, Washington County sheriffs and Pennsylvania State Police were part of the investigation on Sugar Maple Circle in North Franklin Township.
