Six men were arrested in Northview Heights after a string of incidents including a home invasion, an assault and drug crimes.

The series of incidents started just before 11 a.m. Wednesday when officers responded to a report of a home invasion at an apartment at Allegheny Commons on East Ohio Street.

Police said two 26-year-old women were in their apartment, when two men came in their front door, screaming at the women and waving guns. One of the women grabbed her 2-year-old son and moved to another area of the apartment, while the men continued to shout and wave guns. The men left the apartment, and the women and child were not injured.

While officers were at the apartment, they received a report that a man was spotted bleeding from the face and walking from East Ohio Street to Allegheny General Hospital. The 21-year-old man said he was attacked by two men in the vicinity. He said even after he fell to the ground, the men continued to kick him in head and body.

Police determined the same men who invaded the home also attacked the man. Based on the course of the investigation, police identified and arrested the following suspects:

Police then went to a Hazlett Street home, where Rucker was before he was arrested. Reed-Graves answered the door at that home, and police saw marijuana on a table and a young child on the couch next to the drugs. Police said Reed-Graves became “irate,” pushed an officer, and tried to close the door twice.

While officers were arresting Reed-Graves, the four other men came upstairs from a basement. Police detained them and found two more young children in one of the bedrooms.

Police later found four guns, heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and several cellphones in the residence. One of the bags of marijuana was found in one of the children’s bedrooms.
