Community surprises girl, 8, who received multi-organ transplant with bedroom makeover

PITTSBURGH — Kyree, an 8-year-old girl who was once in need of a major multi-organ transplant, was discharged from the hospital this week, according to the Kyree’s Dream Team Facebook page.

According to the Facebook account, which is run by her mother, Kyree was finally released, three months following her surgery.

After three months of recovery, Kyree, an 8-year-old girl that was once in need of a liver transplant, was discharged from the hospital.

Once returning home, the community surprised Kyree with a bedroom makeover fit for a princess.

"I'm speechless; it's just absolutely beautiful. It's something that I could have never done for her," Kyree’s mother, Nan Beachem said.

Hutch & Home, a local furniture store offering interior design services and premier home furnishing and décor, was behind the remodel.

“We’re all about family and supporting our local community at Hutch & Home,” Alison Hutchins, co-owner of Beaver Falls-based Hutch & Home, said. “We of course wanted to help in any way we could, and a Dream Bedroom Makeover was the perfect present for her.”

Kyree’s good days are beginning to outnumber the bad, according to her mother. Though her condition continues to improve, she still needs to take a substantial amount of medicine.
