Aliquippa Mom Gets Trial In Crash That Killed Daughter, 4

PITTSBURGH,None — An Aliquippa mother will head to trial for an accident that killed her 4-year-old daughter.

Police said Jennifer Ruttinger, 32, was drunk when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle on Route 22 in Robinson Township in February. Her daughter, Rylie, was killed in the crash.

On Tuesday, Ruttinger waived her preliminary hearing. She faces numerous charges, including vehicular homicide and driving while under the influence, among other charges.

Police said Rylie was ejected from a rear child safety seat and later died at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Ruttinger and her 6-year-old daughter, who was found secured in a rear child safety seat, suffered major injuries, police said.
