BRIDGEWATER, Pa.,None — A Beaver County endocrinologist who was acquitted after several of his patients accused him of inappropriately touching them will soon return to work.
Dr. Robert Knapp stood trial in October after voluntarily surrendering his medical license. Several women had claimed that Knapp touched them inappropriately during exams in his Bridgewater office.
Knapp has successfully appealed to the state to have his license returned.
One of the women said she was touched by Knapp in October 2009. After one woman came forward, Bridgewater police said they started receiving calls from several other women with similar stories.
"This was not easy, but I knew I was right. I am a compassionate doctor and did nothing wrong," Knapp said. "I'm ready to get back in the saddle again."
Knapp had adamantly denied the accusations, and his family backed his innocence. A jury found him not guilty of all charges.
