NEW YORK — Jimmy Fallon took to Instagram Friday to document his latest injury, a chipped tooth, while also assuring his “Tonight Show” viewers that a new episode would air that evening.
"Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury," the Instagram caption read. "Thank you Dr. Jobe DDS!"

Today.com reported that Fallon's caption included the hashtag #BestSummerEver, likely a sarcastic reference to when he was hospitalized with a serious finger injury after he reportedly tripped and caught his wedding ring on the side of a table.

Upon his return to "The Tonight Show" on July 13, Fallon revealed he spent 10 days in intensive care and was fortunate his finger did not need to be amputated.
"The fall was funny," he said during the July 13 broadcast. "I'm a comedian, so I have to fall funny."
"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs every weeknight after Channel 11 News at 11 p.m.
