2021 Fortune 500: Pittsburgh companies make a strong showing in latest rankings

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh’s largest companies were well represented on the Fortune 500 in the 2021 version of the prestigious list released on Wednesday.

The Fortune 500 ranks publicly traded companies by annual revenue. In total, 10 companies headquartered in Pittsburgh made this year’s list.

PNC Financial Services Inc. (NYSE: PNC) rose 31 spots to No. 120, growing revenue last year by 11.2% to $24 billion. Kraft Heinz Co. (NYSE: KHC), which maintains dual headquarters in Chicago and Pittsburgh, but whose top executives are based in Chicago, was No. 110, up 12 spots, with revenue up 4.8% to $26.2 billion.
