PITTSBURGH — Allegheny Health Network on Saturday announced it will be limiting patient visitation due to a surge in Covid-19 cases in western Pennsylvania.

The changes are effective Tuesday. Visitation for patients in AHN’s hospitals and outpatient centers will be limited under the new temporary policy.

But it’s not a blanket policy. AHN said it will make exceptions for labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care units, pediatrics, end-of-life care, patients who have an intellectual disability or patients being discharged that will help communicate instructions for discharge.
