Allegheny County Council votes to ban drilling in county parks

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Council on Tuesday evening voted 11-4 to ban natural gas drilling and other industrial use of county-owned parks.

It sets up a showdown with Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, who vowed to veto the bill. But a veto override with the same vote would overcome that.
