PITTSBURGH — The Allegheny Health Network announced Tuesday that it has appointed Chong S. Park as president of Jefferson Hospital and Canonsburg Hospital effective immediately. Park succeeds Louise Urban, who was appointed as senior vice president of operations for AHN back in May.

Park has worked for AHN as a cardiothoracic surgeon for years and most recently served as the medical director of the Cardiovascular Institute at Jefferson Hospital. He has also held the title of chief medical officer at Jefferson over the past six years. Park oversaw and played an important role in Jefferson's 2013 affiliation with AHN as well.

“For many years, I have been privileged to part of an extraordinary culture of caring and compassion at Jefferson Hospital that makes a difference every day in the health and well-being of the patients and communities we serve,” Park said in a press release. “Both Jefferson and Canonsburg Hospital are vital community resources, and I am excited about the opportunity to help further advance their broader missions in this new leadership role.”
