Cargo keeps taking off at Pittsburgh International Airport, with nearly 250 million pounds in 2021

PITTSBURGH — Airfreight cargo shipments into Pittsburgh International Airport continue to climb amid the pandemic as nearly 250 million pounds of goods touched down at PIT in 2021.

That’s a figure that the airport hasn’t seen since 2004 and it marks a 30% increase in freight volume over 2020 and a 26% increase over 2019, according to airport data posted in PIT’s Blue Sky News publication.
