GREENSBURG, Pa. — Changes are coming to the Live! Casino Pittsburgh, and according to the top executive of the company that operates the casino, they are all centered around one thing.
Wyomissing-based Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc. (NASDAQ: GLPI) is purchasing for $1.81 billion the real estate assets associated with Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia and Live! Casino Pittsburgh, including applicable long-term leases. Cordish will immediately lease back all the properties and continue to own and oversee all gaming operations at the facilities.
GLPI, which also bought the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington County in 2016 and owns more than 50 casino properties throughout the country, expects to close on its two new Pennsylvania casino buys early in the new year, with all three acquisitions requiring regulatory approval.
