Cioppino and Osteria 2350 in the Strip District to close at year’s end

PITTSBURGH — At the end of this year, Strip District restaurant Cioppino will close.

Cioppino, a restaurant and cigar bar, announced that it would have its final day of operations on Dec. 31, 2024. Additionally, sister Italian restaurant Osteria 2350, located next door, will also close its doors for the final time on New Year’s Eve. The two occupied the same space, located at 2350 Railroad St., in the same block as Coop de Ville. The restaurants are currently led by Executive Chef Robert Carter, who had first started working at the restaurant in 2007 as a sous chef before being becoming executive chef in 2017.

“We’re sad to say goodbye to our neighbors and community who have been a part of our lives for more than 15 years,” an announcement made to social media read. “Unfortunately, the pressures of running a fine dining business have become increasingly untenable. One of the best parts of running a restaurant is the opportunity to be a part of people’s lives in ways big and small. People celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, engagements, new jobs and new babies with us and for that we are grateful.”
