One of Downtown’s newest hotels is undergoing a renovation with a flag change in to works to become official in June.
The Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh, which opened in 2017 as one of two hotels under the brand, the other in New York, is scheduled to change over to become The Joinery Hotel Pittsburgh in June, according to an announcement.
The full name change also includes some shifts in approach and a new restaurant to replace, Or, The Whale, the dining concept of chef Dennis Marron who had been hired away from the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh where he had launched the Commoner.
The new restaurant will be called the T&E Diner by Butler Hospitality expected to open this summer focused on contemporary American cuisine.
