PITTSBURGH — Nonprofit Doors Open Pittsburgh is hosting its fifth annual event, Doors Open Pittsburgh 2020, on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and plans to offer unique access to some of the city’s most iconic and unique buildings.
“Now more than ever, we wanted people to feel connected to our city and to each other,” Founder and Executive Director Bonnie Baxter said in a release. “We have plenty of building owners that felt the same way, and volunteers, so we are thrilled to be able to present the annual event again this year.”
The self-guided walking tour throughout the city aims to highlight Pittsburgh’s heritage, architecture and communities via “behind-the-scenes” access. According to Doors Open Pittsburgh, this year’s event will not take place with groups of people due to public health and safety concerns amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, attendees will partake in this year’s event with those whom they place in their group.
