Duolingo to nearly double its Pittsburgh office footprint with new lease at Liberty East development

PITTSBURGH — Duolingo Inc. (NASDAQ: DUOL), the Pittsburgh-based maker of the popular educational learning platform which shares the same name, is set to nearly double its local office footprint with plans to take up to 38,000 square feet of space at the Liberty East development project a few blocks down the street from its headquarters on Penn Avenue.

The company signed a 13-year lease for the still-under-construction office space and retains the option to extend the terms of the lease for two consecutive five-year terms.

In an email statement, a spokesperson for Duolingo said the company plans to use the new space for auxiliary expansion as it “will soon outgrow the available space in (its) current office building,” a reference to its headquarters at 5900 Penn Ave.
