First look: Lubert-Adler celebrates completion of Kaufmann’s redevelopment in downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH — At a time when the pandemic has created enough reason to doubt the prospects of downtown, Dean Adler came to Pittsburgh with a message of confidence he hopes will help to fill his firm’s one-million-square-foot Kaufmann’s redevelopment with residents as well as extend to the blocks and streets beyond it.

“Crisis creates opportunity,” said Adler, CEO of Philadelphia-based Lubert-Adler Real Estate Funds. “And this was an opportunity.”
