Here are Pittsburgh’s biggest 2021 PPP recipients

Small businesses could receive thousands of dollars in cash grants, and full PPP loan forgiveness, under legislation expected to be signed by President Trump. Pittsburgh area organizations and small businesses received a combined $2.11 billion in 2021 Paycheck Protection Program loans.

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh area organizations and small businesses received a combined $2.11 billion in 2021 Paycheck Protection Program loans.

The second round of the federally-funded forgivable loan program launched Jan. 11 with $284 billion and ended in late May. (Click here for the full national list of PPP recipients.)

Some 28,968 in the 10-county Pittsburgh metro were approved for PPP loans this year, according to U.S. Small Business Administration data. The SBA manages PPP. Locally, 417 businesses received loans of at least $1 million, while 192 received loans under $1,000.
 The counties are: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland.
