PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh area organizations and small businesses received a combined $2.11 billion in 2021 Paycheck Protection Program loans.
The second round of the federally-funded forgivable loan program launched Jan. 11 with $284 billion and ended in late May. (Click here for the full national list of PPP recipients.)
Some 28,968 in the 10-county Pittsburgh metro were approved for PPP loans this year, according to U.S. Small Business Administration data. The SBA manages PPP. Locally, 417 businesses received loans of at least $1 million, while 192 received loans under $1,000. The counties are: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland.
