PITTSBURGH — In the midst of slashing more than 70 branches across its footprint, one of the biggest banks in Pittsburgh is making its first cuts here.
KeyBank is closing two sites in the city — its downtown Pittsburgh branch at 437 Grant St. and the Castle Shannon branch, located at 305 Mount Lebanon Blvd. — as of June 18. The Grant Street branch will consolidate into KeyBank’s site at 300 Sixth Ave., less than a quarter mile away. The Castle Shannon branch will consolidate into the South Hills Village branch at 1825 Washington Road, almost two miles away.
“Our branches are and always will be a source of strength for KeyBank,” Michael Conlin, a spokesman for Cleveland-based KeyBank, said via email on Monday. “Clients do not need to take any action, as all accounts will be transferred automatically to the new location. They can continue to bank at any KeyBank location they choose. Affected teammates will be placed in nearby branches or have the opportunity to apply for other open positions in the market.”
