PITTSBURGH — Blame it on the Bucs.
Pittsburgh’s biggest bank is shuttering another local branch, something that’s happened dozens of times within the past few years.
But the latest office PNC is striking from its lineup is the site at its namesake stadium, home turf of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The PNC Park branch at 10 Federal Street is closing, according to a filing by PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC) with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
“We understand that the Pirates would like to use the space currently occupied by PNC’s branch at PNC Park for a future ballpark enhancement project; therefore, we made the decision to consolidate the branch with our Three PNC Plaza branch,” PNC said via email on Thursday.
