PITTSBURGH — Point Park University launched a new Brewing Science Academy.
The eight-week program, which costs $1,270, will run two days per week from June 7 to Aug. 2. Point Park University received a grant from the Pennsylvania Malt and Brewed Beverage Industry Promotion Board to start the academy.
“One of my colleagues and I have been thinking about doing something like this for maybe two years now, and we were not sure what interest there would be,” Gregg Johnson, chair of Point Park University’s Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology department, said. “So we approached the Master Brewers Association of the Americas local district, and they were all in.”
