Hundreds of apartments could be built across from Ross Park Mall

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Developers have their eyes set on Pittsburgh’s North Hills.

They’re looking to build nearly 300 apartment units in four four-story buildings right off McKnight Road at what was once considered a possible site for a Walmart. It would also feature more than a dozen townhomes.

The apartments would stretch across 13 acres of land right next to Ross Towne Center where Aldi and Panera are located.

RDC Inc. and Commonwealth Development Partners are spearheading the $50 million project. Desmone is handling the architectural development.

The space is right across the street from the extremely busy Ross Park Mall.

The project includes a new walking trail around the building, a swimming pool, a gym and some type of retail building.

The developers hope to draw in residents who are looking to be close to the city but not pay city of Pittsburgh prices.

Developers are planning to start construction in 2022.

They hope to have it completed it in a year and a half.
