PITTSBURGH — Larry Walsh can see the end of the crisis of reopening one of his company’s major buildings damaged by a spring fire.

While it may have taken longer than some might have expected, Walsh, the chief operating officer and a principal of Rugby Realty Co. Inc., can now see the Gulf Tower reopening sooner than it might’ve.

It’s a different perspective on what it has taken to clean up, fix and renovate the fire damage to the Gulf Tower that hit the building on May 19, resulting in the city of Pittsburgh posting a condemnation notice on the building, declaring it unsafe and unfit for occupancy and forcing Rugby to keep it completely closed until it meets all the requirements of the city.
