State lawmakers propose bill to allow car dealerships to reopen

PITTSBURGH — Pennsylvania state lawmakers have proposed a bill that, if passed, would allow car dealerships to reopen amid the statewide closure of nonessential businesses.

House Bill 2388 calls for an amendment to be added to the act Governor Tom Wolf signed last month that would waive car dealerships from being considered a nonessential business. Car dealerships would still have to adhere to proper social distancing practices and other mitigation efforts to protect workers and customers during the pandemic, however.
