PITTSBURGH — More than 100 homes sold for more than $1 million in the North Hills in 2020, more than half of the total such homes sold in the Pittsburgh region, according to data published in the Business Times Leads section.
The Business Times looked at seven-figure home sales by school district, and found that six school districts north of the Allegheny River combined for more than half of the 171 total million-dollar home sales recorded in 2020.
The Business Times previously reported that it was a record year in the region for high-end home sales, with a tight inventory currently leading to multiple above-asking bids on homes in all price ranges.
When it comes to million dollar home sales, four school districts dominate the sales volume. In the City of Pittsburgh, the high-end sales were in Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, Downtown and Mt. Washington. The largest cluster was in the north, where Quaker Valley and North Allegheny combined for 53 seven-figure home sales. Including nearby Pine-Richland, Seneca Valley and Mars, and that northern tier made up about a third of the total high-end sales.
