PITTSBURGH — The University of Pittsburgh announced it awarded $485,000 across nine novel health care proposals as part of its annual Pitt Innovation Challenge, or PInCh. Proposals ranged in scope to address different health care-related problems in diagnostics, treatments and interventions.
Pitt’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) sponsored this year’s program which has now occurred every year for the past seven years.
“The Covid-19 pandemic did not stop the PInCh teams from creating innovative and unique solutions to improve health,” Steven Reis, M.D., director of the CTSI and associate senior vice chancellor for clinical and translational research in Pitt’s Schools of the Health Sciences, said in a release. “We are grateful for the work that each of the finalists put into their ideas. They all found ways to solve health issues that affect everyday life.”
