Bystander grazed by bullet during gunfire thankful his injury wasn't worse

A bystander who was caught up in a gunfire exchange Monday night in Stowe Township told Channel 11 News Thursday that he’s lucky he wasn’t seriously injured.

STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — “It was chaos,” the victim, who wished to remain anonymous for safety reasons, said.

A small bandage was the only thing covering the wound the man suffered during the gunfire.

"In the blink of an eye, there was some whizzing noises. Before I knew it, something hit my leg and I fell over,” he said.

The 48-year-old said he was grazed by a bullet as he was heading into work at Mama Lena's Pizza in the 800 block of Dohrman Street.

Authorities said two or three men exchanged gunfire on the street with at least four weapons.

"I didn't turn around. I went straight to cover,” the victim said. “Somebody was looking out for me because it could've been worse."

The man said he's counting his blessings, adding the violence needs to end.

"These kids are brazen and don't have any regard for their own lives,” he said.

Authorities said Thursday they still have not identified any suspects involved in the shooting.
