Family, friends want answers 1 year after man gunned down

PITTSBURGH — The family of a man who was shot and killed one year ago returned Sunday to the place where he was killed.

No arrests have been made in the slaying of 52-year-old Michael Watson, who was killed March 5, 2016, on Chautauqua Street in Pittsburgh’s Perry South neighborhood.

Watson was shot multiple times and later died at the hospital.

"It took a lot for me to come here today,” Watson’s fiancee Tara Poindexter, said. “But I know I serve a god so he carried me here."

Poindexter believes someone knows something that could help solve the case.

"There's houses and people on this street that know him very well," she said. "If ya'll love him, come out. Speak up!"

Watson’s friends and family prayed and released balloons in his memory.

"I want him to know that I always love him,” Poindexter said. “That he'll always be tucked in my heart, his memories will never be erased and I'll be his voice until God decides to take me out of here."
