Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski spoke to one of the former inmates about what went on inside the jail. She agreed to speak if she could remain anonymous.
“I mean, the entire pod knew he was messing around with inmates,” the former inmate said.
In the hours after Channel 11’s report on the arrest, former inmates posted more on the WPXI Facebook page.
“Trust me, if you didn’t give in to him, he would deny us basic necessities like toilet paper,” someone posted. “He always tried to get me. I was one of the few who didn’t.”
The former prisoner told Channel 11 that she saw Reber flaunt his power as a jail guard firsthand.
When Channel 11's Renee Kaminski asked the former inmate what she thought of Reber's arrest, she said she was pleased to hear about it.
“I loved it,” the former inmate said. “I was like, ‘You finally get what you deserve.’”
Reber is not in jail. He was given a nonmonetary bond with conditions to ensure that he will appear for his preliminary hearing on Dec. 15.
