“The most successful businessmen and women are positive individuals, so we’re using sports to help instill those characteristics at a young age. Positivity is a life skill that will help any young person deal with relationships, obstacles, and opportunities,” Ward said.
Student athletes for 27 different boys’ and girls’ sports were honored alongside two coaches. A grand total of $31,000 in scholarships was awarded to the night’s winners.
There were nearly 1,000 nominations from coaches, teachers and more for the awards, but it ended up being less than 30 student athletes going home with the honors.
