WPXI-TV is excited to announce Swin Cash will be joining us at our 2013 Macy’s Holiday Parade.
Swin is an American WNBA player from McKeesport who currently plays for the Chicago Sky. She attended McKeesport Area High School and the University of Connecticut where she received All-American recognition.
In 2002, Swin was selected in the WNBA Draft by the Detroit Shock and was second overall. She led the team to their first championship in 2003. Other achievements include participating in the WNBA All-Star Game 2003 and winning a gold medal with the U.S. women’s basketball team at the 2004 Olympic Games.
Swin received local recognition when she won the Dapper Dan Sportswoman of the Year award in 2007. This award is given to someone who shows excellence in the Pittsburgh Area.
