PITTSBURGH — A 6-year-old girl who died after she was shot on a front porch in Pittsburgh’s Knoxville neighborhood was laid to rest Friday, with a horse-drawn carriage carrying her casket.

Twelve days after Isis Allen’s death, family members, friends and strangers said their final goodbyes and celebrated her short life.

“Let's celebrate how she smiled, celebrate how she moved, celebrate how she made sure other kids were having fun,” a speaker said.

A family friend said Isis’ death has devastated her loved ones.

“It's been hard. I mean they're handling it. It’d be hard for anyone who loses a child,” Devon McCall said.

In addition to prayers and a song that was written for Isis, the funeral service included pleas for an end to the violence.

“I'm tired of having tears in my eyes for loving somebody who is no longer here,” a speaker said.

Members of the New Brotherhood Motorcycle Club were among the strangers who showed up to pay their respects and show support for Isis’ family.

“We dropped everything to come and show we are all crying for you. We didn't know her, but we miss her too because that could've been anybody's baby,” David Smith, of the New Brotherhood Motorcycle Club, said.

After the service, Isis received a touching sendoff as a carriage ushered her casket to its final resting place.

“I think the family wanted to treat her like the princess she was,” the pastor said.
