BBB: Only one complaint previously filed against baby furniture store that suddenly closed

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Customers at a local baby furniture store said the store closed without fulfilling their orders.

Goodnight Baby on Babcock Boulevard closed recently.

Several customers reached out to Channel 11, saying they bought or put in an order for baby furniture, but only received partial orders or no merchandise at all.

Some customers said they put money down recently, while other said they placed their orders in January and still haven’t received their furniture, even though they’ve made their payments.

Channel 11 has been told that the owner of company is on vacation. Calls to them have not been answered.

A paper taped to the door says, "Due to market conditions and factors beyond our control, we will be unable to continue financially."

"The company is currently unrated due to them being out of business, however, prior to this the company only had received one complaint," said Caitlin Driscoll with the Better Business Bureau. "It's always advised to make that purchase with a credit card and even over a debit card so that you have additional legal recourse in the instance that the situation goes awry."

When you go to the store's website, it said it's currently unavailable, and the company's Facebook page no longer exists.

11 Investigates checked and the company has not filed for bankruptcy.

The State Bureau of Consumer Protection said customers can file complaints with the Attorney General's Office and also the Ross Township Police Department.
